Stephen completed his undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University where he studied Psychology and went on to earn his PhD in Neuroscience from Cornell University.  Stephen has been in the non-profit sector for the past 10 years.  During this time, he has seen first-hand the good non-profit organizations do, which inspired him to earn his Project Management Certification (PMP) and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of North Carolina in 2020.  Serving on the front-line in leadership roles and on numerous board of directors, Stephen has helped improve processes and strategic planning through data collection and analysis. Having seen the struggle of these small organizations, Stephen founded McConoughey Consulting in 2016 to not only support small organizations but to also to educate. Smaller organizations often lack the specialized personnel to deal with technology implementation, data collection, and data analysis.  In fact, over 88% of funders (foundations and government) look for data in funding applications.  Stephen’s passion is providing​ organizations with the tools and ability to compete for these funding opportunities and improve program evaluations through collection and analysis of data.

When not working, Stephen can be found at the golf course, running, enjoying live music, or tasting craft beers while cheering on his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns.
